2 Days Mabamba Swamp and Entebbe Tour.

Our 2 days Mabamba Swamp tour and Entebbe tour will take you to experience birds of the Mabamba Swamp, the area is known for the critically endangered species of the shoe bill stock, they are attracted to the region because of the lung fish which is a major food for them to eat, they have greatly reduced in number as they are hunted by fishermen who also look at the lungfish for business, thanks to the continued conservation purposes the swamp is registered as one of the most important wetland areas and birding areas of Uganda and a Ramsar site, there are over 300 species of birds found here and in season these are joined by migratory birds from all over Africa. We will have the chance to explore Entebbe on a half-day tour to experience the Uganda Wildlife Education Center and shop at the Victoria Mall.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Uganda Wildlife Education Center and Afternoon Botanical Garden Experience

On this day you will be welcomed by our company representative who will meet you from an agreed point or at the Entebbe International Airport and transfer you to the Uganda Wildlife Education Center a few kilometers away from the airport, the sanctuary is home to orphaned animals from conservation areas, they work majorly to rescue these from danger, while here you will enjoy a behind the scenes experience with the zoo workers, coming close to the animals is a super enjoyable activity, you feed giraffes, Rhinos and involve in other duties after we will return for lunch and An evening walk at Entebbe Botanical Garden offers a peaceful yet rewarding wildlife experience along the shores of Lake Victoria. As the sun sets and temperatures cool, the gardens come alive with birdsong and primate activity, making it an ideal time for both birding enthusiasts and nature lovers and their after you will be driven to your booked hotel or drop off at Entebbe airport

Day 2: Mabamba Swamp Tour and Departure.

Early morning breakfast after which we will be transferred to the doc to take your canoe ride along the Marshy swampy papyrus rides, in search of the shoe bill stock together with an experienced guide who will tell you more of the bird species that are present here, expect to see shoe bill, pink backed pelicans, sunbirds, malachite kingfishers, fish eagles, crows, black-headed herons to mention a few, we return departure or a stay overnight in Entebbe.
