Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kampala city tour.

On the 1st day of your safari, your safari guide will pick you up and welcome you to the 6 days Uganda Primate safari. He will belief you about the safari, after depending on the time of your arrival you may be transferred for Kampala city tour ; this is a guided excursion that takes you through the capital city of Uganda, showcasing its rich history, vibrant culture and breathtaking scenery. The tour typically covers a popular attractions such as Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the burial ground of the Buganda kings; the Uganda Museum that showcases the country’s history, culture and natural heritage, Namirembe cathedral, and the bustling markets like Nakasero market and the streets and among others that offers a glimpse into the city’s daily life and commerce.  He will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala and this is where you are going to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s journey to Kibale forest national park. Later you will be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale forest national park.

On the 2nd day of your safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and begin your journey to Kibale Forest national park that is approximately 5hr and 17 minutes. As you leave the bustling city of Kampala behind, you will pass through the picturesque town of Mityana and Mubende, surrounded by the vast expanses of the tea plantation, banana plantations and among others. The road winds its way through the scenic Lake Albert escarpment, offering breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding landscape. Along the way you will have the opportunity to stop at the local markets, interact with the friendly locals, and take in the vibrant culture of rural Uganda, along the way you will have the enroute lunch. After lunch you will proceed with you journey to Kibale. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi walk experience.

On the 3rd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After the breakfast, you will check out from your lodge with your packed lunch and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to Kanyanchu tourism centre for the beliefing about the rules and regulations to follow during the chimpanzee trekking by the experienced park rangers and the park guides. After the beliefing you will be grouped in various groups of 6 people and each group will be assigned by the skilled park ranger that is familiar with the park trails. You will explore the forest to look for the chimpanzees, and this takes a period of about 30 minutes to 5 hours or more depending on the location of the chimpanzees.

The experience is rewarding in that during chimpanzee trekking you will be impressed with the various biodiversity in the forest that is various plant species, tree species, animal species like the red colobus monkeys, forest elephants, white and black colobus monkeys, pottos, golden monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and among others, birds species like Great Blue Turaco, papyrus Gonolek and among many others and among many others while looking for the chimpanzees. And once the chimpanzees are found you will be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the chimpanzees, that is when you will watch the chimpanzees playing, feeding, mothers breast feeding their young ones, mothers grooming their young ones. After the experience you will transfer to the starting point and be awarded with the chimpanzee trekking certificates for taking part in chimpanzee trekking. After the experience you will be transferred for the Bigodi walk experience; this a guided nature walk that takes you through the swamp that offers you a unique opportunity to explore the park’s diverse ecosystems and spot the variety of wildlife including the famous Shoebill stork, during the experience you will have the chance to see a range of bird species, monkeys and other wildlife as well as learning about the park’s unique flora and fauna. After the experience you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 4:  Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

On the 4th of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and then transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.The journey from Kibale forest national park to Bwindi impenetrable national park that is approximately 5 to 6 hours, passing through the rolling hills, and the rural villages of the southern Uganda. Along the way you will have enroute lunch, then after lunch you will proceed with your journey, the with the breathtaking views and the perfect opportunities for photography with the unique roads, the drive eventually leads you to the entrance of Bwindi impenetrable national park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas, where you will begin your exciting adventure through the lush forest. Upon your arrival you will check in your lodge and be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking.

On the 5th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will carry your lunch, and meet your safari guide and he will transfer you to the park’s headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing of the rules and regulations to follow by the experienced park ranger and guides. After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas and also conversant with the various gorilla trekking traits. Gorilla trekking takes a period of about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. During gorilla trekking you will be impressed with the diverse spotting of various biodiversity and once the mountain gorillas are spotted you be given a period of one hour to be in the presence of the gorillas, that is watching them feeding, playing, breastfeeding, mothers grooming their young ones, taking pictures and recording their videos and among others. After the experience you will be transferred back to the starting point to where you will be will receive the gorilla trekking certificates for taking part in gorilla trekking. After the experience you will be transferred for the Batwa community experience this is where you will interact with them, check out their curio shops, enjoying their dances and songs, and among others. Later you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure.

On the final day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and take a hearty breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then get ready to transfer back to Kampala. Along the way you will have a stopover in Mbarara to where you will have the enroute lunch at Igongo cultural centre, this is a unique and a fascinating spot that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Ankole people.

As you savor a delicious meal of the local cuisine, you will be treated to a captivating experience of the traditional dances, crafts and among many others that offers a glimpse into the vibrant culture. The center’s tranquil surroundings, beautiful gardens and scenic views of the perfect environment that add to the charm of this memorable lunch experience. After the experience you will proceed with your journey until you reach in Kampala.
