Batwa Cultural Experience in Uganda

Batwa Cultural Experience in Uganda is done in the southwestern part of Uganda in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga National Park. These are sought of homes to the mountain gorilla species gorilla beringei, a subspecies to the eastern gorilla beringei, Bwindi impenetrable national park is bisected into four sectors Nkuringo, Buhoma, ,Ruhija and Rushaga each of this has got habituated gorilla families for client living freely in the ecosystem without being captivated, the forest is home to half population of the last remaining short structured people in Uganda, they lived within the forest survived and hunted from the forest for a long time they had  amicable relationship together with other forest creatures. Following Conservation reasons the group of people was evicted from the forest and continued living around the slopes of the region.

Batwa are also known as the keepers of the forest, they have continued passing their generational skills to the young ones, it is unfortunate that the tribe is weathering and fading out each day that goes, there have been so many intermarriage from the neighbor communities, never the less those that remained will for sure show you the forest through their eyes, they will teach you how they used to get medicines from the park and explain the purpose of each plant, experience, make a fire without using the modern day match box or lighter’s, and perform their traditional songs and drumming, through the Buniga  forest guests have a chance to take a walk through the forest  experiencing it’s lovely environment and end the day with an afternoon experience of the Batwa community. In order to experience this you are required to pay $35 to least support these communities.

Batwa Cultural Experience in Uganda is cherished with the Mountain gorilla species in the park, this is the most popular thing to do while in Bwindi or Mgahinga National Park, Mountain gorillas live in families of upto 30 members led by amale silverback, these are tracked in groups of eight per Gorilla family, time taken entirely depends on how far the gorilla families have moved, there park activities and include golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga park, Birding, boat cruise along the Lake Mulehe and Mutanda, the forest is such a beautiful place to visit and this can be done throughout the year, however the drier seasons of the month are the most convenient as the trails of the forest tend to be much drier and easy to access.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the southwestern corner of Uganda along its borders with Rwanda, It can be accessed by road taking approximately 9 hours drive to the destination, scheduled it charter flights can be arranged to the park for 2 hours flight to the park, to enjoy a proper journey it I’d important to take note of the having all required vaccines,, most importantly the yellow fever , bring warm clothes, long sleeved shirts and trousers, water proof covers for phones and cameras, hiking boots, gaiters, and any other items of personal nature.
