This 10 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Zanzibar Beach trip takes you to the two most sought-after African safari destinations in Tanzania before spending time relaxing by the fine sand beaches of Zanzibar. Both Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater are animal hubs that shall reward you with amazing wild game viewing. All the big five big cats and, if lucky, the migration in the Serengeti are expected.

Detailed Itinerary 10 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Zanzibar Beach

Day 1: Pickup, Ngorongoro Crater Drive

Your Tanzania safari guide will meet you at the airport upon arrival or hotel of stay in Arusha. After a short brief about the safari, proceed to drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with your packed lunch in hand.

Ngorongoro Crater hosts all the big five animals and a diversity of animals that are resident here throughout the year. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater, where you will search for wildlife species like lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, hyenas, jackals, hippos, zebras, and herds of wildebeests.

You will also see attractions such as Lake Magadi, where you will see a variety of birds, including flocks of flamingos, as well as other wildlife species grazing in the nearby plains. Drive to your lodge, check in and relax as you look forward to a sumptuous dinner and an overnight stay at Hhando Coffee Lodge.

Day 2: Drive to Serengeti National Park, Game Drive

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. You will have lunch in the national park and later you will engage in an afternoon game drive around Serengeti National Park.

During your afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park, you will look out for a variety of wildlife and bird species such as elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, zebras, rhinos, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, elands, waterbucks, kudus, lions, leopards, and impalas, among others. You will have dinner and overnight stay at Serengeti Tanzania Bush Camp

Day 3&4: Full Day Serengeti National Park Game Drive

After breakfast at your lodge, you will head out with your packed lunch for a full day Serengeti National Park safari experience. Engage in a morning game drive around Serengeti National Park and look out for the wildebeest herds in the savannah plains as well as other wildlife species. You will have lunch ahead of another wildlife experience in the national park.

Later in the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 5: Drive to Arusha and Fly to Zanzibar

You will have breakfast at the camp and thereafter proceed to Arusha Airport or JRO for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at the ZNZ airport, meet our driver and proceed to your hotel in Stone Town. Relax for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and an overnight stay at Tembo Hotel.

Day 6: Prison Island, Spice Tour and Stone Town

You will have breakfast at your hotel and after this you will start your day’s activities. Enjoy a Stone Town tour and explore the alleyways of this ancient town as you get to know about the history of Zanzibar and its different cultures. You will take a private boat from Stone Town to Changuu Island or Prison Island, where you will enjoy seeing the giant tortoises and learn about the history of the island. You will take a boat back from Changuu Island back to Stone Town.

Finally, after lunch, you will also engage in a spice tour as you explore the plantations where you will see different exotic spices and also get to know the uses of the spices. Spices like cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg among others can be seen, touched and tasted if you’re up for it. After the spice tour, you will proceed to transfer to your hotel, relax and spend the night at Nungwi Dreams by Mantis (Sea View Rooms).

Day 7,8 & 9: Zanzibar Beach Experience

You will have 3 days to relax at the white sand beaches of Zanzibar Island and enjoy views of the Indian Ocean. Optional activities like swimming with turtles, Safari Blue, horseback safari, among others, are available for booking. Meals and overnight stay as above.

Day 12: Departure

You will have breakfast at your hotel as you prepare for your transfer to the airport for your flight home, which will bring your safari to an end.
