This Lake Mburo National Park Day Tour takes you to explore Uganda’s smallest national park. Lake Mburo National Park is situated in the western part of Uganda along the Kampala – Masaka highway, it is the smallest of the country’s savannah national parks, the only park close to the city areas, the underlined Precambrian rocks support wildlife. Lake Mburo is mostly occupied by waterbodies which join together to form a large wetland ecosystem, traditionally it is said that the park was occupied by Ankole pastoralists, more so the 2 brothers Mburo and Kagama, according to legend it is said that one day Kagama dreamt that it had overly rained in the area and warned his brother about going to the area, who didn’t listen to him, the rains found him in the park and flooded to form the present day Lake Mburo, which is the name of the national park. Wildlife has been scarce in the park due to tsetse fly invasion however a big thank you to the Uganda wildlife authority for the reallocation of animals. This said Lake Mburo remains without large mammals like elephants and big cats like Lions.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
On this day you will be picked up by a Salt Holidays company guide /driver from our agreed point he will brief you on our day tour to the national park, following this briefing we transfer to the national park, it takes 6 hours to drive to arrive at the destination implying that we will be leaving very early in the morning, stop over at the Equator for a brief picture moment, arriving in time for a brief game drive in the park, through the well-distributed game tracks you will view several wildlife species like zebras, African buffaloes, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, Topi, we will return to have lunch at the hotel booked relax a bit and afternoon game drive
In the afternoon time, we will go to the park in search of animals we might have missed the previous day, this an amazing way of meeting animals, expect to see kobs, Antelopes, and Jackson hartebeests, we will return to hit the road back to Kampala or Entebbe for our departure.
