Detailed itinerary for 14 Days Uganda Rwanda Luxury Safari.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport; transfer to Kampala.

When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, our representative (your private safari guide) will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for dinner and an overnight stay.

Accommodation: Sheraton Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park via a scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside, followed by a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Have lunch in Masindi and then head to Murchison Falls National Park. At the top of Murchison Falls, you can see the River Nile squeezing through the narrow gorge to create Murchison Falls, the world’s most powerful waterfall. Then head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and Afternoon boat cruise.

Wake up early and head to the park for a morning game drive; expect to see buffaloes, elephants, lions, and various antelope species. Later, return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise up to the bottom of the falls, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of migratory birds along the Albert Nile. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight, as described above.

Day 4: Visit Kibale Forest National Park and trek chimps.

After breakfast, you will leave your lodge and travel to Kibale Forest National Park, where you will enjoy an en-route lunch and breathtaking views of tea plantations and the rift valley escarpment. Check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimp Trekking and Nature Walk

Wake up early, eat breakfast, and then head to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing on chimp trekking and how to behave in the presence of chimps. When looking for chimps in the forest, you may also see grey checked mangabeys, L’Hoest, red-tailed, and vervet monkeys. Once you locate the chimps, you will only be allowed to spend one hour in their presence, watching them go about their lives in the forests of Kibale Forest.

In the afternoon, you will have a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you will see some amazing birds, including the beautiful turaco. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After breakfast, you’ll leave Kibale Forest National Park and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. When you arrive at the park, you’ll take a short game drive to the lodge. Check in, eat lunch and take a short rest. In the afternoon, you will embark on a Kazinga Channel boat cruise, which connects Lake Edward to Lake George and is home to a large population of hippos, elephants, and various water birds, all of which you will see while on the boat. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Game drive through Kasenyi Plains.

After breakfast, you’ll head to the Kasenyi Plains (the park’s northern sector) for a full-day game drive. The Kasenyi Plains are known for providing the best game viewing experience; you will have the opportunity to see cats such as lions and leopard. This trail is home to large herds of elephants, buffalo, and various antelope species.

Day 8: Game drive with transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Enjoy a relaxing morning with a delicious breakfast before checking out of the lodge and departing for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will go on a game drive in the Ishasha Sector, which is known for its rare tree climbing lions. You’ll have the opportunity to see these rare creatures lounging on tree branches.

Continue to Bwindi Forest, stopping for lunch en route. Arrive in the park late afternoon, check in and spend the rest of the day relaxing before the next day’s adventure.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking Experience

Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide, and proceed to the park headquarters, where you will join other trekkers for a gorilla trekking briefing. In groups of eight, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek with, and you will enter the Bwindi forests in search of mountain gorillas on a two to six-hour trek.

You are only allowed to spend one hour observing the gorillas going about their daily lives in the forest. Return to the park headquarters to pick up your gorilla trekking certificates, then relax at your lodge for the evening. Have dinner and spend the night as described above.

Day 10: Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda.

After breakfast, you will travel to Volcanoes National Park, crossing at the Cyanika Border. Proceed to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 11: Golden monkey tracking and transfer to Kigali.

Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide, and head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing on what to do and don’t do in the forest, as well as the presence of golden monkeys. Trek through the forests in search of the beautiful golden monkeys that live in the bamboo forest, watching them jump from one tree to another and picking fruits. Return to the lodge for lunch, then check out and head to Kigali City.

Day 12: Transfer to Akagera National Park and boat tour.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Akagera National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you will go on a mini game drive and a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to see various wildlife such as zebras, elephants, and giraffes along the lake’s shores, as well as water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation options: Ruzizi Tented Lodge (luxury) or Akagera Game Lodge (deluxe).

Day 13: Full-day game drives at Akagera National Park.

Enjoy breakfast before heading to Akagera National Park for a full-day game drive. Explore the park’s northern sector, which is home to large concentrations of wildlife species, including the Big Five – lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, elephants, and rhinos.

Day 14: Return to Kigali for departure.
