Detailed Itinerary of 10 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
On arrival in Uganda at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, Mabamba Swamp for shoebill tracking, or simply relax as you prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, embark on a scenic journey to Kibale Forest National Park—home to the highest concentration of primates in Africa, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and L’Hoest monkeys. Have a visit at the Equator Crossing at Kayabwe and continue to the park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge after check-in.
Spend the afternoon at leisure or go for a visit to the nearby Crater Lake.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk
Wake up early for breakfast and head to Kibale Forest for a chimpanzee tracking experience, join other visitors at the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the chimpanzees. Then head into the forest looking for the playful chimpanzees, and spend one hour in the presence of these primates watching them play, feed and groom each other.
Later return to the lodge for lunch. in the afternoon you will go for a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for its rich biodiversity, including birds, butterflies and more primates.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
Depart Kibale after breakfast for Queen Elizabeth National Park—Uganda’s most diverse wildlife park. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive where you may spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and hippos, among others.
At sunset, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari
Enjoy breakfast, and go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where predators like lions and leopards roam. Later, take an afternoon boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, famous for its dense hippo population, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Ishasha—Tree-Climbing Lions
After breakfast, journey south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with an en-route stop in the Ishasha Sector to search for the famous tree-climbing lions. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in, and have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early for breakfast, and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the endangered mountain gorillas. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned one of the habituated gorilla groups in Bwindi Forest and enter into the forest with your ranger guide looking for mountain gorillas.
The trek takes approximately 3 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. You will spend one in their presence watching the gorillas groom, feed and go on with their life in the forest. Later, trek back to the park headquarters, meet your driver guide and return to your lodge, spend the rest of the day at rest, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Kivu – Rwanda
Depart Uganda and cross into Rwanda via the Cyanika or Katuna Border, heading to the stunning Lake Kivu. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the lake, take a boat cruise, or explore local fishing villages.

Day 9: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Wake up early for breakfast and head to Volcanoes National Park’s park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing about golden monkey trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of the golden monkeys.
These playful primates are found in bamboo forests of Volcanoes National Park and when you find them, you will watch them play, feed and groom each other. Return to the lodge for lunch; in the afternoon you will visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan traditions and history. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
