Is a June safari better than a December safari?
Is a June safari better than a December safari?
A safari is a safari, irrespective of when you take it, we believe you enjoy the wild equally the same all year round.
However, definitely some months are more exciting to visit the wild than others.

So what makes each month different?
June
June is summer time the sun is out the kids are on holiday and everyone is going on vacation; well not everyone but most people are going on vacation as most people are sold to the view that the summer is the best time to safari.
This makes summer the peak season for safaris. You are assured whatever safari you book during June, you will have company.
The summer traffic also hikes the safari prices. You know the economics supply and demand. So summer safaris are always costly; even for budget travelers.
The safari activities are also on demand so you may have to be on a activity with other people you do not know. Usually good people just that you didn’t know them prior to the safari and sometimes these people end up becoming your good friends and partners.
On a summer safari since the sun is out, you are able to do all safari activities from game drives, bird watching, nature walks, boat rides, lion tracking, primate trekking, vegetation tours, community tours, mountain hiking, white water rafting, bungee jumping, among others.
So basically you can engage in all the safari activities as you wish or rather you have a blank cheque of activities you can do and you choice is your only limit.
You should know that since June is a hot month, some down sides to June safaris may be sun burns, heat allergies, heat rashes etc.
Overall June is one of the ideal months to have a safari, everything is aligned.
But remember book that safari early because everyone is planning for their safari in June.
December
December is the month of festivities. In top of the rampant Christmas celebrations, the month has parties left right, up, down and centre; every where you turn there’s a party and celebration.
It’s the month most families are together and want to experience different things together.
So December safaris are more of a family affair safaris; please note we are not saying June can not be a family affair we are just stating that you will find more families on a safari in December than in June.
December being a festive month, its safari prices are similar to those in June. Because of the traffic hence you don’t prefer a December safari to June safari on basis of saving, because you are not really saving.

Though the people traffic on these safaris may be high, the difference will be that here there are more groups of people travelling together than individual travelers.
December is both cold and hot but majorly cold; but you will get to do all the safari activities like it would have been in June.
Activities like primate trekking, game drives, boat rides, water and recreational activities, nature walks, birding, community tours, and more.
