Detailed itinerary of 9 Days Wildlife And Gorillas Safari.

Day 1: Transfer To Maasai Mara

You will be met by one of our representative for pick up either at the airport or at your hotel in Nairobi after breakfast, after a short briefing about the safari you will depart from Nairobi and head west for Masai Mara enjoying a scenic view of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. Have a stop at the View Point for a chance to appreciate the view of the Great Rift Valley, have another stopover in Narok for lunch and interaction with the local people.

When you arrive in the reserve, you will go on a game drive to spot wildlife thriving in the endless plains of Mara, then head to your lodge for check-in, enjoy dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day In Maasai Mara

Enjoy breakfast and set off for a full day game drive in the endless savannah plains of Masai Mara, enjoy the rolling hills and resident wildlife including the wildebeest migration which is seasonal and present from July to October. If you are lucky enough you will see the Big 5 animals in one day, in additional to lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants, you will also see giraffes, zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, cheetahs, African wild dogs among others.

Have a picnic lunch and continue exploring the reserve till sunset, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer To Lake Nakuru

Today, you will enjoy breakfast and then proceed to a Maasai Village in Mara for a cultural experience, here you will be entertained by local dances and drama, engage in milking of the cattle and interact with the elders. Then leave for Lake Nakuru National Park with en-route lunch.

Along the way you will enjoy beautiful sight of the Mount Longonot on your way and sight of Lake Naivasha from a far. When you arrive in the park, you will engage in a game drive enjoying sight of the endangered Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, black and white rhinos and flocks of flamingoes on the shores of Lake Nakuru. Then proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer To Amboseli

After breakfast at the lodge, leave for an en-route game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park as you head for Amboseli National Park. Along the way you will enjoy lunch and when you arrive in the park, you will be welcomed by the scenic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro- the tallest mountain in Africa crowing the park’s landscape.

During the game drive to your lodge, you will see several animals including large herds of elephants, giraffes, lions among others. Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Full Day in Amboseli

Enjoy a cup of coffee then head to Amboseli National Park for an early morning game drive giving a chance for close viewing of wildlife especially the enormous elephants and their matriarchs. Enjoy picnic breakfast and lunch in between your game drives, on this full day of exploration you will enjoy excellent sightings of several animals including the towering giraffes, herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, lions and elands and a variety of birds found in the park. After watching the sun dipping below Mount Kilimanjaro, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer To Kigali

Have early breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight to Kigali, Rwanda. On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Rwanda Representative and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer To Volcanoes National Park

Today you will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast and go for a short Kigali City Tour exploring the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, Craft Markets and the Belgium Camp. After visiting these fascinating sites, you will have lunch and then embark on a scenic journey to Volcanoes National Park – home of mountain gorillas.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking

Start your day with early breakfast, then meet your guide and depart for the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing from a ranger guide who will share some of the gorilla trekking tips. You will be allocated a gorilla family to trek in groups of 8 people and transfer you to the starting point.

With armed ranger guides, you will head into the forest looking for the gorilla family located to you. The treks takes 2 to 6 hours or more depending on where the gorillas spent their previous night, you are allowed to spend 1 hour with the gorillas taking pictures and watching them groom, feed and play.

Return to your lodge for a relaxing time or visit the Gorilla Guardians Village for a glimpse into the everyday Rwanda people life.

Day 9: Departure
