Detailed itinerary of 10 Day Best Tanzania and Zanzibar Luxury Safari

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Tarangire

Our driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha as early as 8:30 am and depart for Tarangire National Park which is 2 hours’ drive away. The park is known for the abundance of Ancient Baobab trees and the largest concentration of elephants in the country.

Upon arriving in this beautiful park, do a game drive through the park and enjoy sightings of several animals including predators like lions, leopards and several herbivores such as giraffes, wildebeests, zebras among others which are in plenty. In the afternoon, head to the Tarangire River Picnic Site and enjoy your meals and beautiful views of the river and animals such as monkeys and baboons that will try to scare you of your lunch.

Proceed with a game drive as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day in Tarangire

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and head to the park for a full day game drive with your packed lunch boxes. During the game drives you will explore the different regions of the parks and its stunning landscape dotted with the iconic baobab trees, keep your eyes out for the largest herds of elephants, with about 300 individuals per herd along the Tarangire River. Other animals to lookout for include wildebeests, eland, gazelle, impala, zebras, kudu, rhino, hartebeests, buffalo and other small mammals and colorful birds. You will enjoy lunch at the picnic site and continue on your Tarangire exploration adventure till evening. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Manyara

Start your day with a delicious meal, check out of your lodge and head toward Lake Manyara National Park. Although it is small in size, this park is packed with biodiversity including the rare tree climbing lions and a large, shallow soda lake, Lake Manyara that attracts numerous bird species including flocks of flamingoes.

Embark on a game drive on which you see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, zebras and other wildlife in the open areas. Later head to your lodge for check-in and enjoy lunch, have a short rest and in the afternoon go for another game drive till sunset.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to Ngorongoro Crater the largest intact unfilled caldera in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Have a stop at the view point where you will enjoy impressive sight of the crater from above, then descend 600m into the crater for a full day game drive with your packed lunch boxes.

Ngorongoro Crate harbors an abundance of wildlife and during the game drive expect to see zebras, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, cheetahs and also visit Lake Magadi, where you will see large flocks of flamingoes and other colorful bird species including cormorants among others.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, head towards Serengeti National Park via the highlands of Ngorongoro. The iconic Serengeti is the most popular wildlife park in Tanzania, renowned for its endless plains, the Great Migration and one of the richest wildlife habitats. Serengeti’s endless plains are perfect for spotting predators in action and witnessing the stunning beauty of the African landscape.

On arrival in the park, you will have your first game drive, giving you a perfect introduction to the endless plains of Serengeti. Enjoy lunch at one of the picnic sites and continue exploring till evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Full day in Serengeti

Enjoy breakfast and depart for full day game drives in the endless plains of Serengeti, explore this legendary park’s Central Region (Seronera Area) hosting one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park.

From the comfort of your vehicle, you will see several animals, including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, cheetahs, African wild dogs and if you visit in the right time, you will witness the Wildebeest Migration in its full bloom. See thousands of wildebeests on their annual trek in search for water and pasture. After sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Arusha and fly to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and transfer you to the airstrip for your morning flight to Arusha. Upon landing at Arusha Airport, you will meet our representative and connect for your flight to Zanzibar.

You will be warmly welcomed by our guide and drive and transfer you to your hotel in the ancient Stone Town for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8, 9: Full day in Zanzibar

Spend these two days exploring the beautiful Zanzibar Island, a gorgeous tropical island with clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean and palm-fringed, white sandy beaches that are almost too beautiful to be true.

Have a full day Stone Town Tour with our local guide, admire the narrow streets lined with residential houses that preserve their original Swahili-Omani themes. Exquisitely carved doorways identify the themes with metal studs, overhanging balconies and latticed windows. Take a drive to the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar, discover some of the best beaches on the island, each offering spectacular sunsets, palm fringed beaches, turquoise waters, white sand and colorful coral reefs. There are several activities to do including sunset dhow cruise, snorkeling and diving, kitesurfing among others, depending on your interest.
